Finally CU has its very own Roleplay area where we'll be sure to showcase and share all the crazy happenings around the farm!! There's no telling what might happen between the CU Crew and all the amazing horses residing on the farm!
We do want to open this up that CU is now officially its own farm on its own acreage not far from Bavenwood; actually it's right next door on a beautifully manicured 45 acre plot we were lucky enough to secure a couple years ago. With the proceeds from our racing stock we were able to purchase the land lock stock and barrel, use 10 out of the 45 acres for the facilities which include 3 beautifully built barns; 1 show barn, 1 mare barn, and 1 stallion/breeding barn, 2 covered round pens, a hot walker, a large scale covered arena for the Reiners; but anyone can use it, and a large outdoor arena for our Cutters, etc. One or both of the arenas will be used for shows once we get to that point. We also have pasture space for the horses; there's still partially treed areas we will later clear for more pasture space in the future. And lastly we have a pasture area for cattle that's equipped with a squeeze chute and a holding area when we need to move the cows from one pasture to another or need to load them in a trailer or whatever.
For the pasture areas, the stallions have their own paddocks equipped with properly secured panel fencing with a gate at the end, water troughs, run in shed and a door into their stall. The mares have a large 5 acre pasture set up with 3 run in sheds, 2 water troughs and plenty of grass. We had thrown around the idea of where to put our weanlings, yearlings, and show horses who needed a rest. We have set aside three acres for all of them, fenced off 1 acre into 2 pastures, one for weanling colts and geldings and one for weanling fillies. 1 acre fenced off into 2 pastures, one for yearling colts and geldings and one for yearling fillies. And 1 acre fenced off into separate paddocks for each show horse. Depending on how many show Horses we have at one time, all paddocks may be filled but we have plans to clear more land for more pasture space when we need it. We're also hoping to put in a fish pond in one of the bigger pastures sometime in the future as well as other improvements!!! Stay tuned for all the improvements and additions to the farm!!
