As we creep nearer and nearer to the end of 2020, one of the most horrible years to date due to the pandemic and other factors, we sit beside the heater in the barn office wondering and thinking about the coming months and approaching new year. I can't believe its almost the end of November already!! Boy has this year flown by!! In one way that's good, but in other ways its not. The pandemic is still running rampid with no end in sight, people still wearing masks; or the smart ones I should say, and life goes on in this so called new normal! For us horse people, 2020 brought around a disastrous show season with several shows being cancelled and our thoughts of a sure thing for top honors soon fizzled out when we realized the amount of points we needed wouldn't be reached, not this year. We were really hoping to make 2020 our banner year with loads of wins and Championships, but alas it wasn't to be. This year has just been too hectic and uncertain to count on much of anything.
Foaling and Breeding Season are also fast approaching!! We are expecting some very nice foals this year from our various herds, so keep a watch out for them!! I'm very proud of our various different breeding programs; especially my Morgans, TB's and various Warmbloods and Sporthorses. But this foal crop will be mainly Sport type foals with a few Working Western babies that will be preparing for the show ring as soon as their old enough. While looking through our record books, I can only wonder how the future holds for our Sporthorse program, will it continue to thrive and grow, or will we meet a bitter end? At this point in time, I feel we will be able to grow and prosper for many years to come! I have an awesome bunch of stallions at my disposal or producing the next FEI level stars. We are entering a new era where we are wishing to incorporate Warmbloods into our CDE team. I have some ideas on who I want to send forward into the great CDE unknown. I'm just curious which breeds would prosper best? Will it be the American Warmbloods, Hanoverians, or the Thoroughbreds? Maybe the KWPN or Oldenburgs? Who knows, only time will tell, but you can best this team is going to be a driving machine and will tear the fenders off the competitions buggies! Watch out for our newest CDE stars for 2021!!
And finally, this year we are finally able to sort out a few of our finest stallions to showcase for a Winter 2020 Stallion Ad along with granting other members Secret Santa wishes; which I'm VERY excited about!! I think its a lot of fun to be able to give gifts to others but its always a lot of fun to receive gifts as well!! Hopefully everyone gets their wish lists fulfilled and will be set for 2021 when it arrives.
2021 will hopefully be a better year for everyone; here's hoping with all fingers and toes double crossed!!!
Happy Holidays everyone, be safe and wear your masks, don't get this covid crap, keep yourselves and your families safe and sound!!!
