What a fantastic find at the auction block, bound for the killer pen but saved by the gavel! Shimmer was sorely emaciated, weak and a sight for sore eyes. The poor baby didn't know which end was up, she was super skittish and freaked out when we got her. She had a terrible name but OMG look at those bloodlines!! When I saw her pedigree, my eyes got about 3 sizes bigger, I couldn't believe my luck!! After some much needed love, a name change and filed registration papers, this beauty is ready to start her career as a broodmare. We found out through a friend who also went to the auction that this pretty little girl had some training in the Reining pen. Once she was sound enough to ride, I jumped on her and tried her out. Amazing movement, wonderful temperament and a will to win, this girl definitely had it! But we knew with her advancing age, it was probably time to hang up her spurs and just go to a more leisurely life of motherhood. This pretty lady will instead be one of our new cornerstone WW broodmares. She had bloodlines up the wazoo with champions In-Hand and all of the above, I'm pretty sure her resulting babies are going to be amazingly athletic and win their butts off in the Reining pen!! We have a lot to look forward to in the coming years with her foals!!!
