** COMMENTARY **
Selfie is one of those mares that at first glance you think won't amount to much as a racehorse or sport horse. Well think again, this girl is a flippin power house of a horse, all heart and guts of a champion and more!! Her daddy; the unpredictable monster Unselfish Reality, gave his little girl a dose of his salt and vinegar and her momma Explode gave her another dose, which makes this girl hot headed, stubborn and most of all hard to beat! She may have been a pain to train, but it was worth all the sweat, blood and tears to take this girl to the top!! Once a Champion show horse turned competitive Hunter/Jumper, she thrived like crazy. But I still think we should have gotten her involved in Eventing as Hunters seemed a tad bit to docile and light hearted for the likes of Selfie! She would have rose some hell in the Eventing world had we trained her for that tough competition! Now with her reaching her teens, she's mellowed quite a bit, not exactly your docile plow horse type, but she's definitely not as hot headed and crazy as she used to be thankfully!! She's far more manageable now than she was as a racehorse!! But we've very excited to start getting some babies out of this girl, and can't wait to see what she'll produce with the right stallions!!
