General Show Rules
All standard HF show rules apply and horses attending HFEA trials cannot also attend another show while attending the HFEA trial. Assume all in-hand classes and all one-day divisions are held on day 1. Standard & FEI divisions are held over the course of all 3 days.Unlimited entries in in-hand, Future Event Horse, Young Event Horse, and standard divisions.Maximum 5 horses per owner, per division in the FEI CCI-starred divisions.Horses may enter 1 in-hand class and 1 division.In-Hand classes are open to prospects, current competitors, retired competitors, and breeding stock."Future Event Horse" (FEH) classes are more involved than a simple in-hand model class and do prepare the prospect for ridden divisions. FEH is designed to streamline training for prospects that will compete in Young Event Horse (YEH) and does include the option to complete a ridden dressage test for 3-year-olds."Young Event Horse" (YEH) is a set of one-day trials for competitors age 4-6 and is designed to streamline training so that graduates are prepared for Preliminary and a CCI-track career by age 7. Horses may enter a YEH division or a regular division, not both.YEH 4 is open to 4-year-olds. This division is equivalent to Beginner Novice until June and then increases difficulty to Novice in the latter half of the year.YEH 5A is open to 5-year-olds that did not compete over fences at age 4 and will remain at a Novice level equivalent all year. This division may be combined with YEH 4 if entries are low.YEH 5B is open to 5-year-olds that completed YEH 4. It is equivalent to Novice level until June and increases difficulty to Training in the latter half of the year.YEH 6 is open to 6-year-olds graduating from YEH 5A/B or 6-year-olds that competed in standard Novice level for at least 3 months prior to starting YEH 6. This division is equivalent to Training level until September and increases difficulty to something closer to Preliminary in October.Standard & CCI divisions are three-day trials with dressage tests on day 1, cross country on day 2, and show jumping on day 3, with overall ranking scores announced at the end of day 3.
