What can be said about this incredible new breed dreamed up and created by Zym and I except for WOW!! They have really hit it off in the HF Community!! Although Bavenwood is only home to a meager 5 whole Thorgans, there are plenty more in the makings where those came from!! Bavenwood Journey; being our pioneer mare for the breed, has already started her performance career in a big way!! Just within the last few months she has already earned her Champion Title with several Ch, RCh and TT placings in the HFAWS, HFTHA, TBHA and MHA! We are so thrilled with this girl!! Capistrano and Magic Berries are right behind her in points, but Dauphine and Tristram are leading the way with over 1,000 pts each, both earning their Grand Champion titles!!
I couldn't be more thrilled and excited for the future of this unique and exceptional Driving breed!! It's great to see others getting on the Thorgan band wagon too!! Warms my heart to not only see the horses Zym and I have carefully bred to represent the breed, but also to have others acquire one of our horses or breeding their own under their own barn name!! It really hits home when something you've put so much thought and time into becomes one of your greatest accomplishments!! Both Zym and I had this crazy idea to combine our two favorite breeds to create a specialized CDE power horse. And Zym's stallion Don of the North was also a driving force behind all this craziness!! He was really our mascot of sorts you could say!!
Once the first foals were on the ground, we hoarded them away until they were the perfect age to start competing in the sometimes grueling sport of Combined Driving. But what we say and experienced was pure elation that our plan had come together so smoothly and efficiently!! These horses were incredible mind, body and soul!! They were the epitome of everything we had worked so hard to put together, and MUCH more!!! These horses will no doubt be around for generations, and we can't wait to see how the future generations turn out and perform!!
